About the role
About the role
The AI Research Division of Agile Robots is looking for an Intern (m/f/d) Hardware Integration & Robot Control Systems, who will set up, calibrate, and bring physical robot platforms into reliable operation, covering control infrastructure, motion execution, and the validation pipelines that bridge simulation and real-world deployment.
Your Responsibilities
- Hardware Setup: Set up, calibrate, and maintain robotic hardware components, including robot arms, end-effectors, and sensors, to ensure safe and repeatable operation.
- Control Infrastructure: Build and maintain software pipelines for real-time robot control, enabling stable and responsive system behaviour across test and deployment configurations.
- Motion Integration: Integrate and validate motion planning pipelines to ensure consistent and accurate task execution on physical hardware.
- Sim-to-Real Validation: Develop and maintain testing environments that bridge simulation (MuJoCo, Isaac Sim) and real-world deployment, identifying failure modes across both.
- System Testing: Perform structured testing, debugging, and performance analysis to identify system limitations before and during deployment.
Essential Skills
- Academic Background: Currently enrolled in a Master's programme in Robotics, Mechatronics, Control Engineering, or a related field.
- Programming: Practical experience in Python and/or C++ for robotics system development.
- Robotics Frameworks: Hands-on experience with ROS2 in Linux-based development environments.
- Robot Fundamentals: Working understanding of robot kinematics, dynamics, and control principles, with practical experience on physical systems.
Beneficial Skills
- Simulation Environments: Experience with simulation environments such as MuJoCo or Isaac Sim.
- System Integration: Familiarity with hardware-software integration and debugging in complex robotic systems.
- Validation Design: Experience designing structured tests and validation workflows for robotics applications.
- Reproducibility: Knowledge of versioning, configuration management, or reproducible pipeline practices.
