About the role

We are looking for an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist (m/f/d), who will own the design, implementation, and monitoring of OHS policies across our sites, ensuring regulatory compliance and a functioning safety culture grounded in evidence and prevention.

Your Responsibilities

  • Policy and Compliance: Develop, implement, and monitor occupational health and safety policies and procedures in line with applicable regulations including DGUV, Brandschutz, and Arbeitsschutz requirements.
  • Risk and Audit Management: Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and workplace inspections; translate findings into documented, actionable recommendations.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare structured reports and drive corrective action processes through to closure.
  • Safety Training: Plan and deliver safety training sessions and awareness programmes for employees across functions and locations.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on safety KPIs, identify deviations or trends, and recommend targeted improvements to programmes and controls.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Support the planning and execution of emergency response procedures and drills, including coordination with cross-functional teams.

Essential Skills

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of German and EU occupational safety regulations and standards, including DGUV, Brandschutz, and Arbeitsschutz frameworks.
  • Risk Assessment: Hands-on experience applying risk assessment methodologies and conducting structured incident investigations in an industrial or high-risk environment.
  • OHS Qualification: Completed certified training as an occupational safety specialist (Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit) or equivalent; 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in OHS.
  • Documentation Discipline: Ability to maintain accurate safety records, audit reports, and compliance documentation to the standard required for regulatory and internal review.

Beneficial Skills

  • ISO 45001: Familiarity with ISO 45001 and how it shapes management system design and audit cycles.
  • Fire Safety: Additional certification or practical experience in fire safety (Brandschutzbeauftragter or equivalent).
  • Multi-Site Operations: Experience supporting OHS programmes across more than one site, including periodic travel for inspections, audits, and training.
