About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Senior Tax Consultant to join our Business Tax practice. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of local and multinational clients. Working closely with Tax Managers and Partners, the Senior Tax Consultant will manage day-to-day engagement delivery, supervise junior team members, and provide practical, commercially focused tax advice.
This role requires strong technical knowledge of corporate income taxation, deferred taxation and tax accounting, together with excellent analytical, project management and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will contribute to the firm's commitment to delivering exceptional client service while supporting the development of junior professionals.
The holder of this position will ensure that assignments are carried out to the highest standards in order to provide outstanding value to clients and the Firm; develop high-performing people and teams, leading and supporting them to make an impact that matters; and setting the direction to deliver exceptional client service.
What you will do
Tax Compliance
- Prepare and review corporate income tax computations and tax returns for a portfolio of clients.
- Prepare and review deferred tax calculations and tax accounting schedules in accordance with IAS 12.
- Review withholding tax computations and other direct tax obligations.
- Identify tax risks, opportunities and compliance issues and recommend practical solutions.
- Ensure statutory filing deadlines and client reporting requirements are met.
- Maintain high-quality engagement documentation in accordance with firm standards.
Tax Advisory
- Support and deliver tax advisory assignments across a range of industries.
- Research complex tax matters and prepare technical memoranda, reports and client presentations.
- Assist clients with tax planning, business restructurings, tax-efficient investment structures and tax risk management.
- Support tax due diligence, transaction support and other advisory engagements.
- Analyse proposed transactions and advise on their tax implications.
- Monitor legislative developments and communicate their impact to clients and engagement teams.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with client management teams.
- Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for assigned clients.
- Respond to client enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations.
- Deliver practical, commercially focused advice that addresses client needs.
Engagement Management
- Coordinate and manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
- Plan engagement activities and monitor progress against agreed timelines.
- Review work prepared by Tax Consultants and provide constructive feedback.
- Escalate significant technical or commercial matters to Managers where appropriate.
- Assist in managing engagement budgets and ensuring efficient delivery.
Leadership and Coaching
- Supervise, mentor and coach Tax Consultants and new team members.
- Support on-the-job learning and technical development.
- Share technical knowledge and best practices across the team.
- Promote collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
Business Development
- Identify opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients.
- Assist in preparing proposals, presentations and client communications.
- Support marketing initiatives, seminars and thought leadership activities.
- Build professional networks that contribute to the growth of the practice.
Risk Management and Quality
- Ensure engagements comply with professional standards, firm methodologies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain high standards of technical quality and accuracy.
- Protect confidential client information.
- Uphold the highest standards of ethics, integrity and professionalism.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related discipline.
Professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, CPA or equivalent, or substantial progress towards completion.
Experience
Typically 3–5 years of relevant tax experience, preferably within a professional services environment.
Experience preparing and reviewing corporate tax compliance work.
Exposure to tax advisory engagements and client-facing responsibilities.
Experience supervising junior staff is advantageous.
Previous Big 4 or leading professional services experience is preferred.
