About the role
The Agile Coach is responsible for driving Agile adoption across multiple Tribes and Centers of Excellence (CoEs). In addition to coaching technical teams directly, this role provides leadership, mentoring, and capability development for other Agile Coaches within the organization. The Agile Coach ensures consistent application of Agile practices, supports strategic transformation initiatives, and helps teams deliver high‑quality business and technical outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide coaching services to multiple IT Tribes, with strong emphasis on technical aspects of agility.
- Support teams in applying Agile principles tailored to software development, IT infrastructure, DevOps, and CI/CD environments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improving the software development lifecycle (requirements, design, coding, testing, deployment, maintenance).
- Design and deliver Agile training sessions to teams, managers, and stakeholders.
- Support change management initiatives to align organizational culture with Agile ways of working.
- Embed KPIs such as velocity, cycle time, lead time, and provide regular reporting.
- Build strong cross‑functional relationships (Product Owners, Developers, QA, Designers, etc.).
- Partner with Tribe Leads, CoE Leaders, and senior stakeholders to refine the Agile transformation roadmap.
- Act as a trusted advisor on scaling Agile practices and organizational design.
- Support leaders in adopting Agile leadership behaviours and data-driven decision making.
- Lead cross‑Tribe change initiatives and enterprise-level improvement efforts.
- Facilitate strategic workshops (Quarterly Business Reviews, OKRs, planning increments, retrospectives).
- Deliver advanced training on Agile frameworks, technical agility, DevOps, and collaboration tools (Jira, GitLab, CI/CD).
- Strong understanding of software and infrastructure engineering methodologies.
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Agile tools and version control systems (Jira, GitLab, Git).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is an advantage.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum 5 years as an Agile Coach, plus 3–5 years leading other coaches or coaching at scale.
- 10+ years technical background in software or infrastructure engineering.
- Proven track record of Agile transformation across multiple teams or Tribes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong facilitation, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution abilities.
- Ability to coach leaders and influence without authority.
- Capable of creating psychological safety and supporting cultural transformation.
- Experience running an Agile Coaching Chapter or CoE is nice to have.
- Certifications such as ICAGile Expert (ICE-AC), SAFe SPC, Scrum@Scale Practitioner is nice to have.
