Overview of the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Analyst to join a specialist team focused on improving safety, security and operational performance. Working across a range of workstreams, you will use data and insight to identify trends, evaluate performance and support evidence-based decision making.
You will work closely with decision makers and key stakeholders, providing analysis and recommendations that help improve operational outcomes, inform strategic priorities and support continuous improvement initiatives. This role would suit someone who enjoys problem solving, working with data and building strong stakeholder relationships within a fast-paced environment.
Key Accountabilities
Analyse data from a wide range of sources to identify trends, risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
Produce high-quality reports, dashboards and performance insights to support strategic and operational decision making.
Monitor and report on KPIs, ensuring stakeholders have access to accurate and timely information.
Develop recommendations based data analysis to support problem solving and provide evaluation.
Present analytical findings and insights to stakeholders and senior leadership teams.
Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Support multiple workstreams and projects, ensuring priorities and deadlines are met.
Contribute to the development of new reporting methods, processes and analytical approaches.
Ensure data integrity and maintain high standards of accuracy and quality.
Support continuous improvement activities across the wider team.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential
Experience in a performance analysis, business analysis, intelligence analysis or similar analytical role.
Strong data analysis and data manipulation skills, with the ability to turn complex information into meaningful insights.
Experience producing performance reports, open source research, dashboards and KPI analysis.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
Proven ability to plan, organise and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
Experience producing high-quality reports and presenting findings to senior stakeholders such as through Power BI.
Experience working with Microsoft Office applications, and confidence working with data and reporting tools including advanced skills working in Excel.
High levels of attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
Experience working within a public sector, transport, operational or regulated environment.
Experience using business intelligence or data visualisation tools.
Knowledge of performance management frameworks and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience working with external partners and multi-agency stakeholders.
