About the role
Apprentice Quality Inspector Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Main Civil Works Section.
What will you do?
- Supporting inspections of earthworks and enabling works to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Monitoring site activities and verifying adherence to quality control procedures and safety requirements.
- Reviewing drawings, plans and specifications to help ensure construction activities are delivered correctly.
- Identifying, documenting and reporting quality issues, defects and non-conformances.
- Working closely with engineers, supervisors, contractors and project teams to resolve quality concerns and support corrective actions.
- Maintaining quality records, inspection reports and project documentation.
- Supporting the implementation of quality management systems, quality plans and inspection activities.
- Assisting with third-party inspections and monitoring preventative actions and NCR close-out activities.
What are we looking for?
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- A proactive approach, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities effectively.
- Confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders across site teams and management.
- An interest in major infrastructure, engineering or quality management environments. Experience in nuclear or other highly regulated sectors would be advantageous
