AI & Digital Solutions Engineer

Reports To: Director of Quality

Position Summary

The AI & Digital Solutions Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing artificial intelligence, automation, analytics, and software solutions that improve manufacturing operations and business processes. This role leads Blackstone's AI and Digital Solutions function, manages the organization's AI roadmap, develops enterprise applications integrated with Epicor ERP, and drives continuous improvement initiatives across all departments.

Essential Responsibilities

· Develop and execute the company's AI and digital transformation strategy.

· Design, build, and maintain AI applications, automation tools, dashboards, and software solutions.

· Integrate solutions with Epicor ERP, SQL databases, APIs, and other business systems.

· Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and data-driven methodologies.

· Identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes and improve operational efficiency.

· Establish development standards, governance, and documentation for AI solutions.

· Lead technical project planning, prioritization, and implementation.

· Supervise and mentor the AI & Digital Solutions Engineer.

· Develop KPIs and measure ROI for digital initiatives.

· Collaborate with all departments to identify business needs and deliver practical technology solutions.

· Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.

· Ensure solutions meet company security, quality, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

· Associates or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

· Experience with manufacturing operations and ERP systems (Epicor preferred).

· Proficiency in Python, SQL, REST APIs, Power BI, and modern AI/LLM technologies.

· Experience developing business applications, automation, and analytics solutions.

· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma principles preferred.

· Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and project management skills.

· Able to work independently, goal driven, & metrics need to be met.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments, including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and wearing required PPE.

Work Environment

Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, welding operations, and standard industrial conditions. Compliance with all company safety policies is required.

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
