The Commercial Tech Lead, Data Management, provides hands-on technical leadership and architectural guidance for the Data Management Product team within the Data Enablement & Platforms suite. Reporting to the Data Enablement & Platforms Technical Suite Lead, this role works in close partnership with the Product Owner(s) to shape technical direction and ensure capability priorities translate into clear, executable plans. From there, the Tech Lead works alongside development teams, security, compliance, infrastructure teams and/or vendor partners to design, build and deliver scalable, secure, and compliant solutions.
The Data Management team builds and operates integrated commercial data products that deliver unified, 360-degree views of customers and enable analytics, orchestration, targeting, and market access use cases. These products integrate and standardize data across domains such as HCP, KOL, HCO, payer, patient, consent, and product - ensuring consistent, high-quality, and governed data is available across the enterprise. As the Tech Lead, this role is a hands-on contributor and technical leader, directly involved in designing, building, and delivering solutions for commercial data products, semantic data layers, and data integration frameworks, bringing technical depth and leadership to every stage of the work.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Technical Roadmap Development
Partner closely with the Data Management Product Owner to design solutions that solve business problems, providing technical insight into what the technology can and cannot do, effort levels, and tradeoffs.
Collaborate with the Data Enablement & Platforms Technical Suite Lead and Architects to translate product roadmaps into scalable and compliant technology architectures and development plans while assessing feasibility, constraints, dependencies, and risks.
Convert complex business requirements into clear technical specifications and executable technical work tasks.
Solution Architecture & Technical Delivery
Lead the technical team and drive work plans, building, configuration, and integration of software aligned to business needs and technology standards, including:
Commercial Data Products, integrated data assets delivering unified 360-degree views of HCPs, HCOs, payers, and patients.
Semantic Data Layer, standardized business representations of data enabling consistent analytics, reporting, and orchestration.
Business Rules Layers (BRLs), logic layers that standardize calculations, transformations, and business definitions across data products.
Data Integration & Transformation Pipelines, enabling ingestion, harmonization, and distribution of data from multiple enterprise sources.
Translate technical requirements into well‑defined work for the development team, lead Agile ceremonies, and ensure disciplined execution of the capability roadmap, taking ownership of complex technical challenges end to end.
Guide development teams in building scalable and compliant data products that ensure data accuracy, consistency, discoverability, accessibility, and usability across use cases.
Ensure implementation of strong data governance practices, including data quality controls, validation rules, and monitoring frameworks.
Support integration of data products with downstream systems such as analytics platforms, orchestration engines, and reporting tools.
Enable reusable and standardized data product design to reduce duplication and support enterprise scalability.
Support management of licenses, user access management workflows, and KPI tracking in partnership with Suite members.
Cross-Functional Technical Leadership
Partner with business, IT security, and vendor teams to ensure the Data Management team’s technical solutions adhere to organizational standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
Organize and direct vendor partners to execute technical work, ensuring alignment with capability priorities, delivery timelines, and enterprise standards.
Partner with the Technical Suite Lead, Data Enablement & Platforms to escalate and resolve complex technical challenges that span across global capability product teams.
Mentor and guide software engineers and developers, elevating the team's overall technical capability.
Lead cross-team problem solving and resolution of technical challenges within the global capability product team.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Technical Skills
Deep understanding of enterprise data architecture, cloud data platforms, and modern data engineering frameworks.
Experience designing scalable, secure, and compliant data solutions within complex enterprise environments, including data products, pipelines, and governed data assets.
Strong knowledge of system integration patterns, APIs, and data architecture design across commercial data products, semantic data layers, Business Rules Layers (BRLs), and enterprise data integration frameworks.
Experience working within Agile product development teams and product operating models.
Understanding of security, compliance, and regulatory requirements relevant to enterprise data platforms, commercial data products, and data governance workflows.
Demonstrates strong hands-on technical delivery capabilities, effectively translating business requirements into technical specifications and guiding development teams and vendor partners to deliver high-quality solutions.
Experience working within complex, matrixed organizations with multiple technology and product teams.
Experience managing and leading technical use cases through Architecture Reviews, Security Reviews, Data Governance, and AI Council reviews.

Required/Preferred Education and Licenses
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related technical field.
8+ years of experience after Bachelor's degree (or 6+ years of experience after Master's degree) in data engineering, data architecture, data management, or enterprise data platform development, with exposure to data science and advanced analytics workflows.
4+ years of experience as a Tech Lead, or similar role involving hands-on technical leadership of data engineering or data platform development teams, working with modern data technologies and cloud data platforms.
Demonstrated experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data platforms such as commercial data platforms, semantic data layers, and enterprise data integration solutions, using modern data technologies (e.g., cloud data platforms, distributed data processing frameworks, and data orchestration and reporting tools).
Experience working within complex, matrixed organizations with multiple technology and global capability product teams.
Proven ability to mentor and guide developers and vendor partners to deliver high-quality solutions.
Preferred / Additional Qualifications:
Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industries preferred.
Experience partnering with enterprise platform teams or global capability product teams supporting digital and operational capabilities.
Experience working in rare disease or specialty brands, with strong understanding of unique stakeholder dynamics.
Working Requirements:
10-20% travel will be required.

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. For this role, the full and complete base pay range is: $153,600.00 - $230,400.00
Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation aligned with the candidate's expertise and contributions, within the established pay framework and our Total Compensation philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence individual base pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a regular basis.
At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz's Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
