General Summary of Position
The Associate Director – Global Insurance & Risk is responsible for developing, implementing and managing an effective insurance program that optimises Ansell's risk position and outcomes.
The role acts as Ansell's insurance subject matter expert, providing professional advice to the business on risk, contract reviews, risk engineering and claims.
The position is also responsible for managing enterprise risk activities, including risk reporting for Ansell's Board of Directors and maintaining and developing central risk artefacts, including Ansell's Risk Management Framework and Enterprise Risk Register

- Place and maintain Ansell's global insurance program, as well as business and/or country-specific insurance policies, ensuring cost-effective use of insurance and continuous development in line with changing business needs and market conditions.
- Engage and manage Ansell's current and prospective insurance counterparties, including insurers, brokers and other external partners globally, as well as Ansell's wholly-owned captive insurance company.
- Manage insurance compliance and premium allocation issues in more than 30 countries, including identification of group exposure, location of risk, and associated regulatory and tax considerations.
- Manage insurance claims (including legacy claims) in conjunction with internal and external legal teams and insurers.
- Assist in the management of Ansell's captive insurance company, including reporting to boards and regulators, and acting as a Board Director where required.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of business activities and operational needs to prepare accurate underwriting submissions and identify emerging areas of risk.

Provide professional advice to the business on risk and insurance matters, including:
- Risk assessment and management
- Contract reviews
- Risk transfer strategies
- Claims advice
- Work with external risk engineers and the Safety Team to design and execute a risk engineering program that improves insurance and risk management outcomes.
- Provide communication and training to internal stakeholders on insurance-related policies and procedures.
- Prepare and present insurance reports to the Ansell Board of Directors.
Risk Management
- Prepare risk reporting for management and the Ansell Board of Directors.
- Maintain and update the Enterprise Risk Register.
- Drive and embed a consistent risk management process across all business areas, including development and maintenance of functional risk registers.
- Coordinate periodic review and ongoing enhancement of risk management documentation, procedures and plans.
- Define and manage the Group's risk appetite and associated key risk indicators.
- Conduct comprehensive research into existing and emerging risks and develop appropriate risk transfer or risk retention strategies.
- Participate in crisis management responses when required.
- Provide risk management input to major cross-functional projects, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
Key Position RequirementsEducation
Degree in one of the following disciplines:
- Business
- Finance
- Law
- Engineering
- Insurance
- Risk Management
Experience
- Minimum 10 years' insurance experience.
- Experience managing a multinational insurance program is highly desirable.
- Experience managing external insurance service providers.

- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills across different countries and cultural backgrounds.
