Travel: ~50% (varies by project)

Storm Technologies is seeking an Automation and Controls Engineer II to join our team delivering advanced automation solutions for industrial refrigeration systems. If you’re passionate about PLC and HMI programming, thrive in a hands-on engineering environment, and want to work in a specialized, high-impact industry — we’d like to hear from you.

Our office is located in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, just outside of Kansas City. Candidates are preferred to work in-office when not traveling, but we are open to remote candidates who meet the qualifications and can effectively support project and team requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and program PLC systems using Rockwell Automation platforms (Ladder Logic)
• Design and implement HMI applications using:
• FactoryTalk View
• FactoryTalk Optix
• Ignition
• Interpret control narratives and translate them into fully functional control systems
• Travel to customer sites (~50%) for:
• System commissioning
• Troubleshooting and support
• Operator training

What We’re Looking For

• 1+ years of experience programming and commissioning PLC and HMI systems
• Proficiency in Ladder Logic development, including building complete PLC programs from written or verbal control narratives
• Experience with one or more HMI platforms:
• FactoryTalk View
• FactoryTalk Optix
• Ignition
• Troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
• Willingness and ability to travel as project needs dictate

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
