Department: Placement / Organizational Development
Reports to: Regional Manager or Regional Program Supervisor
Summary: The function of the Business Developer is to build and maintain a positive public image for the organization. Develop new relationships, build rapport and follow-ups, attend networking events, and conduct independent research.
The Business Developer will take on additional Career Consultant responsibilities as needed to support organizational demands. In coordination with the _Regional Manager or Regional Program Supervisor, the Business Developer is responsible for developing assessment and work opportunities for clients or students with disabilities in accordance with their career goals and interests; and/or support clients in the attainment of their established goals. Will source and secure appropriate jobs for Morningside clients by contacting businesses in their assigned geographic area.
Responsibilities: The following additional responsibilities are unique to the specialty of Business Developer:
- Establish and maintain relationships with customers, community, and other stakeholders.
- Connect with and contact known and new potential employers, as needed, to locate jobs in
occupations / area of client’s interests.
- Provide follow-up as necessary to ensure placement success.
- Facilitate interview, and placement process for client success.
- Assist employers to combine, recombine, or carry out tasks appropriate for referred client.
- Facilitate introductions between employers, clients, and Career Consultants.
- Assist clients with hiring paperwork process and preliminary onboarding process.
- Assist client with uniform support as needed.
- Attend DVR meetings as needed.
- Provide Job Development activities for Morningside clients with unique or highly customized employment requirements.
- Aid organizational efforts for successful program growth.
- Facilitate_ organizational marketing, business relationship development, and outreach for new and developed service lines.
- Attend various community (clubs, chamber, EDC etc.) meetings as needed to further advance organizations brand and awareness in communities, businesses, and organizations to include colleges, and universities.
- Complete paperwork and case notes in accordance with timely company standards, quality, and accuracy. Complete all case notes daily.
- Attend organizational meetings and trainings as required.
- Prepare bi-weekly outcome report on all efforts and deliver report in a weekly meeting to Regional Manager or Regional Program Supervisor.
Accountabilities: The following additional accountabilities (measures of performance) are unique to the specialty of Business Developer:
- Meet or exceed the goals for the annual (or other frequency) measured outcomes, as mutually agreed with the Regional Manager or Regional Program Supervisor.
- As needed, assist in supporting Transition Team’s business development needs for success, outcomes as directed by the Regional Manager or Regional Program Supervisor.
Authorities: The following additional levels of authority are unique to the specialty of Business Developer:
- To determine the methods (such as cold calling, networking, etc.) and frequency of outreach to current, prospective employers, clubs, and organizations.
- To develop own scheduled to meet the Unique Responsibilities of the position and communicate that schedule to county partners and supervisor.
Skills, Education, and Experience: The following additional required skills, education, and experience are unique to the specialty of Business Developer:
- A strong aptitude for the common activities of business relations, networking, branding, marketing, and sales, including excellent communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Bachelor’s Degree or extensive knowledge and proven experience in related field of expertise.
Working Conditions: The following additional or different working conditions are unique to the specialty of Business Developer:
- Work is typically performed in the community visiting businesses, in and out of a vehicle throughout the day and periods of time in the office.
- Periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer.
- Lifting requirements will vary depending on site, not exceeding 50 pounds.
- Potential need to travel between branch offices as needed.

Compensation:
The full pay scale for this position is $25.32 - $34.04/hr.
Unless candidates possess prior experience in this field, the starting wage is $25.32/hr.
Merit increases are available annually when meeting and exceeding outcomes.
