Cloud Security Engineer

This client's Cyber Defense organization is seeking a senior Cloud Security Engineer focused on reducing risk across public cloud environments, with a primary emphasis on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

This individual will be responsible for remediating critical cloud security findings, updating Terraform codebases, automating fixes across cloud projects, coordinating secret rotations, validating remediation efforts, and addressing underlying architectural causes to prevent recurring issues. The role sits at the intersection of cloud engineering, security, networking, infrastructure, and automation.

The ideal candidate is not a traditional security analyst—they are a hands-on cloud engineer with strong Terraform expertise and a security mindset , capable of navigating large-scale cloud environments and implementing remediation directly.

Must-Haves:

5+ years of GCP engineering experience

--Strong experience writing automation scripts, tooling, and pipelines specifically within GCP environments.

Terraform Expertise

--3+ years writing and maintaining production Terraform code.

--Experience managing infrastructure at enterprise scale (100+ cloud projects preferred).

Cloud Infrastructure Engineering

--Deep understanding of cloud and on-prem infrastructure.

--Experience with:

• Networking / SDN
• IAM
• Compute
• Storage
• Databases

Automation Experience

--Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)

--Scripting

--CI/CD pipelines

Cloud Security Remediation

--Experience identifying and remediating security risks within cloud environments.

Strong Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis

--Able to understand existing architectures, repositories, and dependencies to prevent issues from reoccurring.

Cross-Functional Communication

--Comfortable driving remediation efforts across infrastructure and engineering teams.
