North London Hospice is a registered charity that has been caring for local people since 1984. We help those with a potentially life-limiting illness who have specialist needs.

We welcome people from all faiths and communities within the boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. We are now also able to offer some of our services to people within Camden and Islington. We provide physical, emotional and spiritual care to patients and families, friends and carers.

As a registered charity, North London Hospice provides free Specialist Palliative Care Services. We receive some government funding, relying on donations and legacies to meet the cost of providing our exceptional care and support.

The Fundraising Team are a driven and determined team who play a pivotal role in ensuring sustainability of the Hospice now, and in the future.

Role Purpose

This is an exciting new role in a new team working with a Corporate Partnerships Manager to drive sustainable income via corporate partnerships for the hospice. This is a relatively untapped income stream for the hospice and there is a real opportunity to grow our portfolio of corporate partners and the right person will be able to make this an area of career defining growth. The postholder will work with the Corporate Partnerships Manager and will support them to identify and pitch for new opportunities, as well as developing and growing support from the companies already supporting us and ensuring that all of our partners feel involved in and valued by the hospice.

Key Responsibilities

General

• Account Management- You will be responsible for account managing a portfolio of partnerships ensuring that our partners have a fantastic experience supporting the hospice and want to continue over many years.
• New Business- You will work under the direction of the Corporate Partnerships Manager to identify new industries and potential partners for the hospice and develop appropriate business pitches
• Product development – You will support work with key stakeholders to develop appropriate products that will appeal to the corporate audience using insight from current partners and other stakeholders. You’ll then match partners to appropriate products with compelling cases for support.
• External fundraising environment – You will take responsibility for your own knowledge and learning. You will strive to be aware of innovations in the sector and look at how we could implement them at North London Hospice.
• Budgeting and KPIS- You will contribute to the gathering of information for preparing the budget and KPIs. You and the Corporate Partnerships Manager will be accountable for an income stream and for managing expenditure related to your income stream.
• Compliance – You will strive to ensure that your activities are compliant with the Fundraising Codes of Practice, GDPR and other relevant regulations.
• Key working relationships including but not limited to; Daily: The wider Fundraising and Communications and Marketing Team, our corporate partners Occasional: the wider NLH teams, (including retail, learning and Development, bereavement and clinical teams)
• Any other reasonable duties required within the scope of the role.

Experience and Knowledge

• Experience of managing or supporting partnerships or customer/client relationships- essential
• Experience of providing inspiring and effective supporter or customer journeys to maximise income potential – essential
• Experience of providing support for new business or partnership pitches – essential
• Commercially aware- essential
• Experience of preparing written supporting documents and emails- essential
• Experience of making cold approaches to potential supporters or customers- desirable
• Sound knowledge of the legislation, regulations (inc. GDPR) and financial issues relating to fundraising – desirable
• Experience of working for a health or social care charity – desirable
• Knowledge of the corporate landscape of north London- desirable
• Experience of developing new products to attract new supporters – desirable
• Demonstrable experience of setting and managing budgets and KPIs – desirable
