Custom Spray Process Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on, and skilled process engineer to join our dynamic team, who has extensive experience in providing technical support and driving improvements in day-to-day manufacturing. The process engineer will be the technical subject matter expert, who owns the manufacturing processes for our custom spray coating value stream, monitors all processes, leads continuous improvement, and supports new product development. As process engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring we deliver best in class service for quality, on-time delivery, and overall customer satisfaction.

Duties

1. Collaborate with scheduling and manufacturing team on day-to-day production needs (includes updating headcount staffing models, performance measurement boards, machine capacities, material replenishment plans, production scheduling, machine maintenance scheduling).

2. Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues, involves maintenance and equipment engineer as required.

2. Establish robust process monitoring and controls plus quality and safety standards to ensure products meet or exceed customer requirements.

3. Drive change and strategies to scale manufacturing operations to meet future growth.

4. Collaborate with engineering team to develop proper data collection plans in our SCADA and MRP.

5. Maintain Value Stream Maps and update takt time for their value streams.

6. Lead Kaizen and process mapping activities for their value streams.

7. Complete engineering studies to characterize and optimize manufacturing processes.

8. Manage continuous improvement project portfolio for our coating value streams.

9. Drive process changes and technology integration strategies to scale manufacturing operations to meet future growth.

10. Own the manufacturing technology roadmap for custom spray value stream and integrates automation and new technologies as required.

11. Establish and maintain current and future state (3P) value stream layouts.

12. Develop operator on the job training and updates work instructions.

13. Collaborate with both peers and management to create positive, professional, and productive culture and work environment as well as to create a learning organization.

14. Provide technical training to operators, process technicians, and engineering team as needed.

15. Perform scrap tracking and manage scrap reduction initiatives.

16. Develop key process metrics and controls and can utilize an MRP system as needed.

17. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Minimum 3 years of process engineering experience, preferably in the medical device industry.
• Proficient knowledge and application of GMPs & ISO 13485 system requirements, and knowledge of equipment qualifications tools (i.e., IQ, OQ, & PQ).
• Must be customer focused, have a strong quality mindset, and make effective risk-based decisions.
• Able to successfully manage complex situations, provide clarity and focus to teams, and has experience in driving continuous improvement projects and strategies.
• Possess practical knowledge of Lean Principles and Six Sigma Methodology
• Experience in troubleshooting processes and equipment issues.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude, willingness to be hands-on, and lead by example.
• Able to actively listen, flex communication style, and respond with empathy.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced cross-functional team environment, with minimal supervision, and effectively communicate and present to all levels of an organization.
• Experience guiding teams through uncertainty and complex situations, including being able to transform ambiguity into clarity and direction, where clear answers do not yet exist.
• Possesses strong interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills along with excellent analytical, change management, critical thinking, attention to detail, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to perform technical writing, develop training, quality procedures, databases, and dashboards.
• Experience with MRP software is a must. Knowledge in Minitab and Ignition (SCADA) are a plus.
• Knowledge and experience using optical measuring equipment, profilometer, and performing quality measurements is a plus.
• Knowledgeable in OSHA regulations and complies with EHS policies and procedures.
• Must be customer focused, have a strong quality mindset, and make effective risk-based decisions.
• Able to proactively organize and prioritize multiple tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
• Demonstrates good financial and business acumen, able to manage capital projects.
• BS or advance degree in Engineering and certifications are preferred.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
