Data Analyst | The Role

As a Data Analyst at CXI, you will transform operational, experimental, and technical data into meaningful business intel. You will build reliable reporting systems, identify trends, evaluate performance, and help leadership make informed decisions using accurate, measurable information.

Success in this role comes from curiosity, quantitative thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to simplify complex information into actionable insights.

This is a less-than-full-time position with flexible hours, designed for someone who wants meaningful analytical impact without a traditional full-time schedule.

What You’ll Do

Data Management

• Organize and validate operational and technical datasets.
• Maintain data integrity and reporting accuracy.

Business Intel

• Design dashboards and executive reporting.
• Identify performance trends and operational bottlenecks.
• Develop KPIs for leadership.

Analytical Support

• Perform statistical and trend analyses.
• Forecast program performance.
• Support financial and operational planning.

Process Improvement

• Recommend workflow improvements using data.
• Document analytical processes.

What We’re Looking For

Required

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (statistics, data science, computer science, mathematics, economics, operational research or related).
• Strong analytical skills and comfort working with real-world datasets.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel (Numbers) advanced, SQL, Python or R preferred).
• Ability to create clear visualizations and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• High attention to detail and comfort working in a secured, onsite technical environment.
• Ability to work flexible, less-than-full-time hours onsite.

Preferred

• Experience with experimental, scientific, or engineering data.
• Familiarity with dashboard tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
• Prior exposure to R&D, deep-tech, or technical program environments.
• Genuine interest in applying data skills to scientific and engineering problems.

Work Arrangement

• Onsite only — all work performed at our secured facility.
• Secured environment — candidates must be comfortable working in a controlled-access setting.
• Flexible hours, less than full-time — schedule designed for meaningful contribution with greater personal flexibility.
