Data Cabling Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Data Cabling Engineer to join our team and drive the seamless installation and maintenance of telecommunications and network infrastructure. Duties

• Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for data, voice, CCTV, and security systems using hand tools and specialized equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute installation plans.
• Set up and configure network equipment including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya systems, and VoIP solutions to ensure robust communication channels.
• Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of telecommunication hardware and network components to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with project teams to plan cable routes, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with electrical safety standards.
• Document installation processes, create detailed reports on system configurations, and update schematics as needed.
• Assist in electrical wiring tasks related to network infrastructure installations while adhering to safety protocols.

Experience

• Proven experience in network installation or telecommunication projects involving Ethernet cabling, CCTV systems, or VoIP technology.
• Strong knowledge of computer networking principles, including TCP/IP protocols and Ethernet standards.
• Hands-on experience with hand tools used for cable termination and equipment repair.
• Familiarity with electrical systems related to telecommunications infrastructure is highly desirable.
• Experience working with Cisco routers, Juniper switches, Avaya communication systems, or similar hardware is a plus.
• Ability to read technical schematics accurately and follow detailed installation instructions.
• Prior involvement in equipment repair or electrical troubleshooting within a telecommunications or IT environment is advantageous.
