Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 3:00 AM - 12:00 PM Eastern time , Weekend flexibility - planned weekend hours for one weekend in June, July and September (Labor Day Weekend).

Our client seeks a DataStage platform engineer to maintain stability and performance during testing, cutover, and post go-live periods. The role will diagnose and resolve abends, tune high-volume workloads, and provide hands-on oversight during Mock cycles and conversion weekend. Successful candidates will enforce platform resilience, reduce operational risk, and ensure predictable data migration that supports critical downstream processes.

Rate: $64.00 to $74.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities

  • Provide rapid diagnosis and resolution of DataStage job failures to maintain test and production stability.
  • Monitor and tune DataStage platform performance under increased test and cutover volumes.
  • Deliver hands-on platform oversight and issue resolution during Mock cycles, conversion weekend, and post go-live stabilization.
  • Detect and remediate job performance issues, bottlenecks, and abends that could impact conversion processing.
  • Tune and optimize high-volume DataStage conversion workloads to meet cutover and Mock throughput requirements.
  • Maintain pipeline resilience during key events to avoid delays or failures that affect downstream systems.
  • Provide Level 3–4 engineering support for advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and rapid remediation.
  • Support business continuity across integrations, including customer account setup, transaction history migration, regulatory reporting, and product readiness.
  • Adhere to the work schedule Monday through Friday, 3:00 AM to 12:00 PM Eastern Time, with planned weekend flexibility in June, July, and September.


Experience Requirements

  • Advanced expertise with IBM DataStage in enterprise-scale environments.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting abends and performance bottlenecks in complex ETL pipelines.
  • Hands-on performance tuning for high-volume conversion and Mock testing workloads.
  • Experience providing Level 3–4 engineering support, including root cause analysis and incident response.
  • Background supporting time-sensitive cutovers, go-lives, and stabilization periods.
  • Experience ensuring reliability for downstream systems and regulatory reporting through stable data pipelines.
  • Ability to operate in early-morning schedules and planned weekend events as required.
