About the role
The Go-to-Market Strategic Analytics team delivers advanced analytics, measurement, and decision support across Best Buy’s non-retail, customer-facing experiences (Digital, Category, Marketplace, Services, and Support). This role sits within a team that supports both Support and Services, with a primary focus on Support and flexibility to shift into Services based on enterprise priorities. You will partner cross-functionally to address complex, high-impact customer and operational challenges, leveraging large-scale contact center, transcript, and operational data to drive enterprise-level improvements in customer experience, efficiency, and cost, while supporting broader strategic initiatives as business needs evolve. As a Decision Scientist, you will lead end-to-end analytical initiatives—framing ambiguous problems, synthesizing data across sources, uncovering root causes, and delivering insights that scale across the enterprise. You will apply advanced analytical and AI techniques to influence strategy, improve customer outcomes, and optimize performance, operating as a trusted partner who drives measurable, cross-functional impact.
This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Thursday at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You can work virtually from home or another non Best Buy location on Friday. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

What you’ll do

What you’ll do
- Influence cross-functional teams by providing compelling data-driven insights that guide strategic decisions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the business team, using data analytics to challenge assumptions, identify opportunities, and drive strategic initiatives.
- Present complex analytics results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, crafting clear, persuasive narratives that drive action.
- Keep abreast of new theories, strategies and best practices in the industry and think beyond current knowledge and existing assumptions to develop new solutions, applications and strategies
- 3+ years of experience in retail, analytics, business, or related area
- 3+ years of experience applying analytical techniques to answer business questions or scientific questions
- 2+ years of experience using SQL and/or Python to analyze and transform data.
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, or similar field with quantitative rigor
- Demonstrated success collaborating/influencing cross functional business teams/decisions
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex data into impactful business insights.
- Advanced stakeholder management and relationship building skills, with the ability to build consensus and drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong project management skills, capable of balancing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality results on time.
- 1 or more years’ experience influencing and presenting to all levels of the organization
- Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, or similar field with quantitative rigor
