Overview
We are seeking a skilled Domestic Appliance Engineer to join our small Family Business. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of domestic appliances, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong technical background and a passion for appliance maintenance and repair. The position involves working independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality service across various domestic settings.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs on domestic appliances such as washing machines, dishwashers, ovens, and refrigeration units
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to facilitate accurate repairs
- Conduct routine maintenance to prevent future breakdowns and extend appliance lifespan
- Install new appliances in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards
- Maintain detailed records of work carried out, parts used, and time spent on each job
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies
- Provide advice to customers on appliance care and troubleshooting minor issues
Requirements
- Proven experience in equipment repair, maintenance, or related technical roles
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex systems within domestic appliances
- Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of service
- A valid driving licence is essential for travelling between customer sites
