What will you be doing?

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you'll join our Engineering team developing software that powers the next generation of tactical communications products.

Working closely with Electronics, RF and Systems Engineers, you'll develop embedded software for real hardware products, helping to bring new features and capabilities from concept through to production. You'll be involved throughout the entire product lifecycle, taking ownership of software components and contributing to products that are deployed in some of the world's most demanding environments.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with modern embedded platforms while helping shape the evolution of our software architecture. As we continue to invest in new technologies, you'll contribute to the modernisation of our embedded software platforms, developing robust, high-quality software using current tools and development practices.

Whether your background is in Embedded Linux, RTOS or both, you'll be joining a collaborative engineering team where you'll be encouraged to share ideas, solve complex technical challenges and continue developing your technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities will include:
Designing, developing and maintaining embedded software for advanced communications products
Developing software for Embedded Linux and RTOS based platforms
Writing robust, maintainable C and C++ code for embedded systems
Debugging software running on embedded hardware and supporting system integration activities
Developing networking functionality and communications protocols for embedded devices
Collaborating with Electronics, RF and Systems Engineers to deliver integrated product solutions
Participating in design reviews, code reviews and technical investigations
Supporting software verification, testing and continuous improvement activities
Producing clear technical documentation to support software development and ongoing product maintenance
Contributing to the evolution of our embedded software platforms and engineering practices

About You

You're degree-qualified in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics or a related discipline, with experience developing embedded software for hardware products.

You have strong C and C++ programming skills and experience developing software on Embedded Linux, RTOS platforms or both. You're comfortable debugging software on embedded hardware and have a good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP.

Experience with device drivers, multithreaded software, communications protocols, Python or automated testing would be advantageous, although not essential. Exposure to ARM based embedded systems, digital communications, DSP or FPGA based systems would also be beneficial.

We're looking for engineers who enjoy solving practical engineering problems and working closely with hardware teams to develop high-quality products.

You'll be a collaborative engineer who takes ownership of your work, communicates effectively and enjoys contributing to a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Benefits and Culture

Our culture is supportive and collaborative. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team where we share our ideas and innovation is strongly encouraged. We are looking for someone with genuine passion and can-do attitude for what they do.

Our Head office is located in Mawson Lakes offering a spacious, modern facility, free secure onsite parking, easy access via public transport, and an onsite subsidised café.
