Sr Embedded Software Engineer

Location: San Diego, California (On-site)

We are hiring a Principal Software Engineer for a leading company in the Aerospace & Space Technology industry. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge space-based embedded systems alongside a highly skilled engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, document, and test embedded software for aerospace and space applications.
• Develop and debug Bootloaders, BSPs, Kernels, and Device Drivers.
• Develop software using C/C++, Python, and Assembly.
• Work with VxWorks, Embedded Linux, RTEMS, and Bare-Metal environments.
• Support system integration, verification, debugging, and manufacturing.
• Participate in software architecture, design reviews, customer discussions, and technical planning.
• Contribute to process improvements and software development best practices.

Job Requirement & Skills

• 8+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++.
• Experience with Python for automation or test development.
• Hands-on experience with:

VxWorks (6.9/7.0)

Embedded Linux

BSP Development

Kernel & Device Driver Development

Bootloaders

• Experience with Buildroot/Yocto.
• Knowledge of NAND Flash File Systems.
• Experience in low-level hardware debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG, or in-circuit emulators.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (master's preferred).
