About the role
Job title - Engineer-In-Training 1, Roadway Design
When You Work at Stanley Consultants You Will:
- Collaborate with and learn from experienced Professional Engineers and be mentored by industry leaders in transportation.
- Support experienced engineers on transportation projects, including plan development for a comprehensive range of transportation design projects, including horizontal and vertical geometry, cross sections, earthwork modeling, 3D roadway modeling, quantities calculations, construction specifications, and utility coordination.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Design roadway projects and associated components such as roadway pavement, stormwater drainage, signing and pavement markings, signalization, lighting, and utilities.
- Prepare construction plans and develop roadway 3D models using computer aided drafting and design programs.
- Prepare and check quantity calculations, design calculations, and engineering reports.
- Conduct project site visits/investigations and attend construction meetings.
- Research and understand City, County, State, Federal, and International Engineering Design Standards.
- Adhering to company standards for quality control.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.
- Engineer Intern (EIT) registration required, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
- 2+ years of civil engineering experience, prior relatable internship/co-op experience preferred.
- Proven communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
- Self-motivated and adaptable to evolving client, project, and industry needs.
- Experience with or capable to learn Bentley OpenRoads Designer and/or Autodesk Civil3D.
- Experienced in and fully capable of using the Microsoft software suite including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Ability to work remotely based on business operations and the needs of the firm.
- Proven strong work ethic and a collaborative team player.
