Description:
At Orikan, we’re looking for a curious, motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Cloud Engineer to join our Technology Operations team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career technology professional who is genuinely interested in cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, automation and IT operations.
You’ll be supported with training and development while gaining hands-on experience across cloud environments, systems monitoring, databases, networking, CI/CD pipelines and security. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to help keep Orikan’s technology systems secure, reliable and operating smoothly.
About the Role
As a Graduate Cloud Engineer, you’ll support the design, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of Orikan’s technology systems. You’ll assist with cloud operations, troubleshoot technical issues, support deployments and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across our IT and cybersecurity environment.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, learning new technologies and working collaboratively with others to deliver practical technical solutions.
A Day in the Life
As a Graduate Cloud Engineer at Orikan, your day may include:
Assisting with database monitoring, performance checks and backup activities across Azure SQL environments.
️ Troubleshooting infrastructure, networking or application-related issues with support from senior engineers.
Supporting CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps to help streamline software delivery.
Contributing to cloud automation and infrastructure-as-code practices.
Collaborating with IT, development, cloud and security teams to support deployments and resolve technical issues.
Taking part in team meetings, technical discussions and internal technology projects.
Building your knowledge through training, certifications and exposure to emerging cloud technologies.
Learning and applying cybersecurity best practice to support secure and reliable technology operations.
Skills and Experiences:
✅ What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone who has:
A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cloud Computing or a related discipline.
️ Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux administration.
An interest in cybersecurity, including identity and access management, malware protection, vulnerability management and secure configuration.
Awareness of scripting or automation tools such as PowerShell, Bash or Python.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
A genuine willingness to learn, adapt and grow in a fast-paced technology environment.
A collaborative approach and ability to work effectively across teams.
✅ Please note: applicants must have full working rights through Australian or New Zealand Citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency.
⭐ Nice to Have
The following would be highly regarded, but are not essential:
Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification, such as AZ-900.
️ CompTIA A+, Network+ or Security+.
