About the role

Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for a Graphic Artist. The duties of the Graphic Designer Web & Multimedia include, but are not limited to:

The positions will start immediately upon acceptance and employment clearance and are initially funded through 12/31/26, with the good chance of extension.

Pay Rate: $33.13/hr working 40 hours a week

Location: Position will be Part Time 2-3 days a week in office.

Job Duties:

  • Provide creative support in integrating the Office of Violence Prevention's (OVP) brand and style guidelines
  • Coordinate with Public Information Specialist to manage and produce assigned projects from creative phase to completion, including coordination with administrative team and print vendors.
  • In alignment with OVPs branding guidelines,
    • Design templates and layouts for organizational material: flyers, brochures, research briefs, reports, promotional incentive items, presentations and multimedia projects.
    • Design visual content for digital outreach such as web banners, social media graphics, and newsletter assets.
  • Provide support as the acting webmaster for the programs website by making regular content updates and working with the Public Information Specialist to update the web pages on a regular basis.
  • Maintain project files in a shared Microsoft Teams-based cloud storage system
  • Ensure all design assets, including editable working files, templates, graphics and final deliverables are saved to designated County-approved shared drives.
  • Other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • A minimum of five years experience in in-house graphic design and web management utilizing professional programs such as Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS and Javascript with demonstrated experience maintaining a non-CMS website: content changes require technical knowledge, file transfers, and direct code modification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams and Windows environments
  • Experience managing multiple projects in a collaborative team setting: ability to prioritize, organize, and coordinate work deliverables within a team environment to meet short timelines.
  • A valid California drivers license, proof of vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Ability to create high-quality original designs for print, web, and digital media.
  • Experience in other design programs such as Photoshop, After Effects, and Canva.
  • Experience working in a public health, government agency or nonprofit organization.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to relationship-building, both internally and externally.
  • Basic knowledge of Spanish for designing dual language English-Spanish material
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and coordinate work deliverables within a team environment to meet short timelines.
  • Excellent organization, presentation, oral and written communication skills
