We're looking for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our team supporting our Primark operation in Thrapston. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious safety professional who is passionate about creating safer workplaces, driving compliance and engaging colleagues to achieve operational excellence. You'll work closely with operational teams and leaders across the site, helping to ensure the highest standards of quality, health, safety and environmental performance are consistently maintained.

This is a full time, permanent, position working ‘any 5 out of 7’ but predominately Mon-Fri on a 37.5 hour week

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £33,957.00 per annum, and 33 days annual leave (inc bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Support the implementation and monitoring of Health & Safety policies, procedures and best practices across the operation
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and risk assessments, identifying hazards and implementing effective corrective actions
  • Assist with accident, incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring lessons learned are shared and embedded across the business
  • Deliver engaging safety briefings, toolbox talks and awareness initiatives that promote a positive safety culture
  • Support quality, environmental and compliance activities, including audits, reporting and continuous improvement project

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Experience within a QHSE, Health & Safety or compliance-focused role, ideally in logistics, transport or a fast-paced operational environment
  • IOSH Managing Safely and a NEBOSH General Certificate or NVQ L3
  • A good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and risk management principles
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence and engage colleagues at all levels
  • A proactive, organised and detail-focused approach, combined with a genuine passion for continuous improvement and workplace safety

Promoting and driving a culture of safety engagement in line with the Road to Zero philosophy and improving performance through the implementation of relevant management systems current standards and legislation; maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by the identification and control of risks, leading to the prevention of accidents and causes of work-related ill health.
