As we continue to grow and develop our operations, we are seeking an organised, proactive, and people-focused HR & Recruitment Officer to support recruitment and day-to-day HR activities across our UK operations.
Purpose of the Role
To coordinate the full recruitment process and provide effective day-to-day operational and administrative HR support, ensuring vacancies are filled efficiently, new employees are properly onboarded, employee and workforce records are maintained accurately, and HR policies and procedures are applied consistently across the Company.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full recruitment process for operational, technical, administrative, and management positions.
- Prepare and publish job advertisements across appropriate recruitment platforms and social media channels.
- Source, screen, interview, and shortlist candidates, ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
- Coordinate interviews, prepare candidate assessments, and support hiring managers during the selection process.
- Prepare employment contracts, offer letters, amendments, and other HR documentation.
- Coordinate the onboarding and induction process for new employees.
- Maintain accurate employee personnel files and HR records in accordance with Company procedures and data protection legislation.
- Administer and monitor employee attendance, working hours, holidays, absences and other workforce records, investigating discrepancies where required and ensuring accurate information is provided for payroll and HR reporting purposes.
- Prepare regular HR reports, including recruitment activity, headcount, employee turnover, absence statistics, overtime, working hours, and other workforce metrics.
- Provide first-line support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment-related enquiries.
- Support Employee Relations activities, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, probation, and capability processes, preparing documentation and attending meetings where required.
- Coordinate Right to Work checks and maintain immigration and employment compliance documentation where applicable.
- Organise mandatory training, maintain training records, and monitor completion of statutory and Company training requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies, UK employment legislation, and internal HR procedures.
- Participate in HR improvement projects aimed at enhancing recruitment, employee engagement, HR systems, and operational efficiency.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in recruitment, HR administration, or a similar HR support role.
- Practical experience managing or supporting the full recruitment process.
- Experience recruiting operational, production, agricultural, warehouse, or manufacturing employees will be considered an advantage.
- Working knowledge of UK employment legislation and Right to Work requirements.
- Ability to review applications, conduct candidate screening, and coordinate interviews effectively.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage several vacancies and priorities at the same time.
- Confident communication skills and the ability to work effectively with candidates, employees, managers, and external partners.
- Professional, discreet, and responsible approach when handling confidential employee information.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience using recruitment platforms, applicant tracking systems, or HR information systems will be considered an advantage.
- CIPD qualification or relevant HR training will be considered an advantage.- Good written and spoken English.
- Additional language skills will be considered an advantage.
