Based in Clifton Park, New York, this role gives you the opportunity to lead branch installation teams, strengthen customer relationships, and contribute to results that matter across the region.

Role Overview

As the HVAC Install Manager, you will oversee Controls, Equipment, and Mechanical Installation delivery teams under general direction. You will help align people, schedules, financial performance, safety, and customer commitments so projects are executed efficiently and in line with branch objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day execution and performance of assigned Controls and Mechanical Installation delivery teams.

  • Support revenue forecasting, billings, collections, resource planning, and other branch financial activities.

  • Assign projects and coordinate the engineering, commissioning, and mechanical resources needed to deliver them.

  • Manage installation scheduling, including want dates, ship dates, and overall equipment backlog.

  • Set goals, development plans, and performance expectations for direct reports.

  • Evaluate employee performance and support salary management decisions.

  • Recruit Project Team Leaders, System Team Leaders, Lead Systems Specialists, Project Engineers, and Equipment System Application Engineers.

  • Ensure estimating and engineering standards are applied effectively across the branch.

  • Follow up on customer satisfaction issues and drive timely resolution.

  • Support the Senior Installation Manager with annual strategic and financial operating planning.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, customers, consultants, and subcontractors in the community.

  • Review and interpret contract terms and conditions with project and sales teams.

  • Coach teams on project risk management, conflict resolution, and recovery planning.

  • Promote change orders and help protect project and branch performance.

  • Ensure work complies with state, local, federal, and legal requirements, and that safety expectations are followed by employees and subcontractors.

  • Own outcomes with accountability, safety, and integrity by making sure the work is executed responsibly and in compliance with company and legal requirements.

  • Stay close to the work and focus on what matters by keeping priorities visible, removing obstacles, and helping teams deliver for customers without delay.

  • Improve every day through candid problem-solving by addressing slippage, risk, and customer issues early, then driving practical recovery actions.

  • Win as one team by aligning branch leaders, project teams, and field resources around common goals, shared schedules, and clear communication.

  • Lead with discipline in planning and follow-through by monitoring backlog, cash flow, billings, collections, productivity, and succession planning with consistent attention.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent experience.

  • Seven or more years of progressively more responsible project leadership experience in the building construction industry.

  • High-level competence in written and verbal communication.

  • Ability to travel based on the geographical locations of assigned teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with MS Project and MS Tools.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Ability to negotiate and work through conflict resolution issues.
