We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior CAD Designer / R&D Technician to join our innovative design team. In this role, you will assist in developing detailed technical drawings and 3D models for a variety of projects, supporting research and development initiatives. Duties
- Assist in creating detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SketchUp, NavisWorks, and SolidWorks.
- Support the development of schematics and technical documentation for engineering projects.
- Collaborate with senior designers and engineers to refine designs and ensure accuracy in all technical drawings.
- Contribute to research activities by preparing prototypes, testing concepts, and documenting findings.
- Help maintain organized CAD files, project records, and version control systems.
- Participate in project meetings to provide updates on design progress and incorporate feedback effectively.
- Support construction-related tasks by reviewing civil plans created with Civil 3D or similar tools, ensuring compliance with specifications.
Qualifications
- Strong IT skills, ideally experienced in CAD 2D and 3D systems such as Fusion360, AutoCAD Inventor or experience in SolidWorks and able to adapt
- Ability to draw up components and assemblies as well as generating support documentation
- Experience with designing sheet metal products an advantage but not essential
- Able to create detailed and accurate technical product drawings in a timely manner
- Confident reading and understanding basic drawings
- Excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Flexibility - able to manage and prioritise a changing to-do list
- Effective communication skills, able to build and maintain good working relationships
- A keen eye for design as well as strong attention to detail and accuracy of your work is imperative
