Junior Cybersecurity Engineer

NXT Security & Solutions is hiring a Cybersecurity Engineering Assistant to support the development, testing, and operation of security systems across our products and internal infrastructure.

You will work closely with our engineering and security teams on vulnerability research, security testing, automation, monitoring, documentation, and AI security initiatives, including work related to Glyph Guard.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vulnerability assessments, security reviews, and controlled penetration testing
• Investigate security alerts, suspicious activity, and potential weaknesses
• Support testing of APIs, web applications, cloud infrastructure, and AI systems
• Build or improve scripts, internal tools, and security automation
• Help maintain security logs, technical documentation, and incident records
• Research emerging threats, attack techniques, and defensive controls
• Collaborate with engineers to identify risks and recommend practical fixes
• Support red-team exercises and validation of security protections

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity, networking, Linux, and web technologies
• Familiarity with Python, Bash, JavaScript, or another scripting language
• Understanding of common vulnerabilities such as authentication flaws, injection attacks, access-control issues, and insecure configurations
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote startup environment
• A genuine interest in security research, AI security, and building reliable systems

Experience with tools such as Burp Suite, Nmap, Git, Docker, cloud platforms, SIEM systems, or vulnerability scanners is helpful but not required.

This is a remote, full-time position with the opportunity to work directly with the NXT team, contribute to real security projects, and grow into broader cybersecurity engineering responsibilities.
