Lead Azure Platform Engineer

Excellent consulting opportunity to join a market leader in the wealth sector as a Lead Platform Engineer for their Azure / Cloud platform.

The Role

· Reporting to the Head of Core Technologies, you will be responsible for designing, building and operating secure, scalable and reliable Azure infrastructure that underpins key business applications

· You will provide technical designs for platform optimisation with a focus on rightsizing and cost management.

· You will embed security by design and drive observability across the platforms, ensuring reliability and operational stability

· You will work across multiple project activities, taking technical ownership of the outcomes

· As a Lead in the platform team, you will provide technical guidance and ensure critical escalated issues are resolved.

Your skills

· Minimum 7-10 years of infrastructure engineering experience

· Deep Azure platform / services expertise -Compute / Network / Storage / Identity

· Proven background designing and delivering cloud platform solutions within complex regulated environments – Cloud architecture / Azure landing zones

· Azure governance standards, policy management and security controls

· Automation and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or Bicep; ARM templates)

· IAM / RBAC / Access Patterns /Microsoft Entra ID

· Knowledge of common observability and APM tools

· Experience with Azure networking VNETs, peering, Private Endpoints, VPN/ExpressRoute, Application Gateway, Azure Front Door

· Technical leadership skills, mentorship and ability to influence

· Known as a "doer" and outcome-focused

Pay: $1,000.00 – $1,300.00 per day
