Manchester School of Modelling is expanding and we are looking for a talented, passionate and professional Makeup Artist to join our growing team.

As one of the UK’s leading model development and portfolio creation companies, we specialise in high-quality modelling and commercial test shoots designed to help aspiring models build confidence and create industry-standard portfolios.

This is a fast-paced studio environment where every client experience matters. We are looking for someone who can deliver camera-ready hair and makeup looks efficiently while making clients feel empowered, comfortable and confident.

The Role

As a Makeup Artist, you will be the face of our creative services, working closely with clients, photographers and the studio team to create professional looks suitable for modelling and commercial photography.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality makeup applications tailored to different facial features, skin tones and shoot styles
• Create both hair and makeup looks within allocated timeframes (approximately 1 hour per client)
• Conduct client consultations to understand preferred looks and confidence levels
• Work closely with photographers during shoots to ensure clients remain camera-ready
• Maintain a clean, hygienic and organised makeup station and kit
• Ensure all brushes, tools and products are sanitised to industry standards
• Thrive within a fast-paced, high-volume studio environment
• Help clients feel comfortable, confident and empowered throughout their experience
• Keep up-to-date with current beauty, modelling and social media trends
• Be able to work calmly and professionally under pressure

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a professional Makeup Artist within a studio, salon or freelance environment
• Strong makeup skills across glam, natural, editorial and commercial styles
• Good understanding of skin prep, colour theory and product knowledge
• Ability to manage time effectively and work efficiently between appointments
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Positive attitude with a strong team mentality
• Reliable, punctual and professional presentation
• Hair styling experience is highly desirable
