About the role
Job Description:
The Automation Engineer will identify and implement measures for cost savings and manufacturing process improvements with automation as well as support aspects of production. A successful candidate will be able to work independently as well as part of a team, be able to multi task, be a self-starter, and most of all be hands on with projects. This is a full-time position, and not eligible for remote working.
Responsibilities to include:
· Drawing, reviewing, and updating 3D models and prints
· Designing and aiding in the development of work holdings, fixtures, jigs, tooling, and machines
· Design, assemble, and install new applications of robotics and other automation devices including electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
· Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills to support existing automation and to make improvements
· Perform project management responsibilities for assigned manufacturing changes and project startups
· Design, develop, and integrate equipment improvement/automation ideas
· Utilize Lean manufacturing tools to identify opportunities for cost reduction and manufacturing process improvements
Qualifications:
· Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
· Minimum 2 years of experience working in a production manufacturing setting
· Experience programming Robots (Fanuc is preferred)
· Experience using PLC’s or digital logic
· Knowledge of key engineering systems (Lean, VSM, ECN, Kaizen, PFMEA, APQP)
· Excellent problem solving and organizational skills to document improvement efforts
· Knowledge of 3D CAD modeling and drawing (SolidWorks preferred)

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
