Network Support Engineer

Job Summary

Contigo Technology is seeking a skilled Network Support Engineer to join our Managed IT Services team in Austin, Texas. This role is responsible for supporting, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining client network infrastructures across multiple business environments. The ideal candidate has experience with enterprise networking, firewalls, Microsoft technologies, cloud connectivity, and network security.

As a Network Support Engineer, you will work closely with systems engineers, service desk professionals, and cybersecurity specialists to deliver proactive IT solutions that maximize uptime, security, and performance for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, wireless, and VPN environments.
• Monitor network performance and respond to alerts using remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools.
• Troubleshoot switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and internet connectivity issues.
• Support Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Assist with Microsoft 365, Azure, and hybrid cloud networking solutions.
• Configure and maintain VLANs, routing, switching, and network segmentation.
• Deploy and maintain firewall security policies and VPN access.
• Perform firmware upgrades, patch management, and preventive maintenance.
• Support network documentation, diagrams, asset inventories, and configuration backups.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to strengthen network security and compliance.
• Participate in infrastructure upgrades, office relocations, and client technology projects.
• Escalate complex technical issues when necessary while maintaining ownership until resolution.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and communicate technical information clearly to clients.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of network support or systems support experience.
• Strong knowledge of:
• TCP/IP
• DNS
• DHCP
• VLANs
• Routing & Switching
• VPN Technologies
• Windows Server
• Active Directory
• Microsoft 365
• Azure Active Directory
• Experience supporting Cisco, Fortinet, Ubiquiti, SonicWall, Meraki, or similar networking equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to travel locally to client sites when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Certifications such as:
• CompTIA Network+
• Cisco CCNA
• Fortinet NSE
• Microsoft Certified
• Azure Administrator Associate
• Experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and endpoint security.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Lift and move IT equipment up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work on-site and occasionally travel to customer locations.

Pay: $3,700.00 - $4,100.00 per month
