About the role
Your mission
We’re looking for you to join us as an Operations Trainee (m/f/d) at our head office in Munich. The trainee programme isn’t a traditional career starter – it’s a career accelerator. Over 18 months, you’ll gain experience across the key areas that define an Operations Manager at yoummday: from operational management and process optimisation, through training and talent development, to sales. From the very start, you’ll act as a full member of the team and take responsibility for your own tasks and their success. The goal is clearly defined: upon successful completion, you’ll join the company directly as an Operations Manager – with full responsibility for results and clients.
What to expect:
You’ll work across four key business areas:
Operations & Industry Groups: You’ll gain in-depth insights into one of our client programmes – both operationally and in terms of processes. You’ll analyse KPIs, identify deviations and develop measures to improve service performance and capacity utilisation.
Training: You’ll support the planning and implementation of training initiatives, contribute to the further development of learning pathways and build a solid understanding of the interplay between training, quality and operations.
Talent Marketplace: You’ll gain experience of working in a cross-functional team, support the process-based management of our talent, and analyse supply, demand and market dynamics on the yoummday platform.
Sales: You’ll help process customer enquiries, contribute to the quotation process and develop a deep understanding of value creation and the interplay between Sales, Operations and the Talent Marketplace. Alongside your rotations, you’ll take on your own projects with clear objectives, timelines and measurable outcomes, enabling you to make a significant contribution to yoummday’s success from day one.
Your start as an Operations Manager
Your trainee programme is just the beginning: afterwards, you’ll join yoummday directly on a permanent basis as an Operations Manager (m/f/d). The 18 months give us sufficient lead time to carefully prepare your transition into a specific OM role. As an Operations Manager (m/f/d), you’ll have overall responsibility for your own client project: you’ll manage team leads and their remote teams, steer the project using KPIs, develop scalable processes and act as the main point of contact for your client – both operationally and strategically.
Your skillset
- You have successfully completed your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, ideally with a focus on economics, and have gained some initial professional experience through work placements or other roles – preferably in business operations, analytics or a customer-facing role.
- You possess strong analytical skills: you break down complex problems, identify patterns in data and use these to develop clear, actionable solutions, even when not all the information is immediately available.
- You communicate at a management level: clearly, precisely and in a manner appropriate to your audience, whether with team members, senior stakeholders or clients.
- You’re in your element when things get dynamic: a start-up mindset, a strong willingness to learn and consistently high standards are second nature to you.
- You take the initiative, drive projects forward proactively and maintain an overview and a focus on results even when requirements change.
- You are interested in a long-term collaboration, are willing to travel and have business-level proficiency in German (C2) and English (at least C1).
Your winning deal
What makes this programme unique isn’t the list of benefits – it’s the learning curve. Over 18 months, you’ll gain a 360° insight into a profitable, rapidly scaling start-up: close to operational decisions, close to customers, and close to a leadership team that shapes the business rather than merely managing it.Your development: Structured mentoring from a dedicated Operations Mentor and a P&C Mentor, with regular feedback that genuinely helps you progress, rather than simply assessing your performance. Your development doesn’t stop there: subject to appropriate performance, you’ll have the opportunity to follow a defined career path (e.g. Industry Group Manager and Industry Group Lead). This will see you take charge of a major account or an entire industry, just as successful colleagues in our team have already done.
Your proximity to decision-making: You’ll work directly within the teams that manage yoummday’s day-to-day operations – no parallel world, no reporting role. What you achieve has a direct impact on the company’s success.
Your network: Within 18 months, you’ll build relationships across all relevant functions – a head start that puts you years ahead of a traditional career path.
Your benefits: 30 days’ holiday, a lunch allowance (€69 per month), a Givve Card (€50 per month) or an EGYM WELLPASS, corporate benefits, JobRad bike leasing, contributions to pension schemes (occupational pension & voluntary savings), team and company events.
Your working environment: Flexible, hybrid working from our modern, dog-friendly office in Munich – plus two weeks’ workation within the EU each year (*applies to employees with an EU passport).
