About the role
Job Description:
TouchPad Electronics is currently seeking a self-motivated full-time PCB Designer to create and maintain printed circuit board designs in the contract design services industry. This candidate would need excellent organizational skills, be able to work in a team environment requiring strong communication skills and strive to better our growing company in throughput and controlled design. TouchPad is an ISO registered company, and experience following a Quality Management System is preferred. This position is focused on engineering & product development with a top priority on customer service.
Summary: Designs printed circuit boards from inputs by customer or design team. Makes revisions to existing designs. Completes all documents required for output packages for PCB manufacturing and assembly.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Perform PCB physical layout (parts placement, constraint driven routing, verification, etc.) required.
- Perform and understand schematics capture, create and troubleshoot net list and routing rules from customer provided information packages about the design.
- Generate fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, manufacturing artwork and check files.
- Work closely with Hardware Engineers to ensure electrical and physical parameters are within specification.
- Work closely with PCB vendors/suppliers to reduce cost and maximize PCB yield and ensure design is manufacturable, and support prototype and production builds as required.
- Accountable for coordination with hardware engineering peers, management, and customer to complete a given project.
- Follow all ISO procedures and documentation for TouchPad’s design control process and implement changes or improvements when identified to drive compliance and engineering efficiency.
- Manage and coordinate workload, schedules, customer interfaces, and internal interfaces for assigned projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, or Associates degree in Electronics, and at least 5 years of relevant experience in complex PCB design preferred.
- Experience with analog, digital, RF and mixed signal PCB layout.
- Experience in schematic capture, library generation, routing rules creation, signal integrity optimization
- Familiar with IPC standards.
- Self-motivated, detail oriented, organized, highly skilled in communication, and able to work independently with minimal supervision is required.
- Able to meet tight schedules with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrate the ability to make sound technical proposals and decisions, as well as efficiently communicate problems to help drive consensus on resolution.
- Solid knowledge of placement of a wide variety of digital, analog and RF boards, and strong understanding of power supply design.
- Experience in Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro / OrCAD are desired.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
