The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Generative AI science team is responsible for growing OCI’s Generative AI, Agent and Analytics services. Our goal is to build foundational technologies and enable customers to apply AI to solve their business problems with Oracle’s assistance and expertise in Generative AI, Database and Analytics. We are seeking an exceptional applied scientist to work on innovative Generative AI & Data Analytics modeling research and development efforts. As a Principal Applied Scientist in Generative AI Science team, you will be architecting, building and deploying cutting-edge, high-quality AI models and solutions at scale. You will work with a team of world-class scientists in exploring new frontiers of Generative AI and collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers and product managers to deploy these globally for real-world enterprise use-cases at the largest scale. You will play a key role in shaping the future of Generative AI & Data Analytics at Oracle and across the industry. Your contributions will be pivotal in delivering our new Generative AI-powered services for large-scale enterprise customers.

Responsibilities :

• Research and Development: Conduct in-depth research on Generative AI and Data Analytics, with a focus on Large Language Models (architecture, models, representation, evaluation, optimizations, planning, among others), and other emerging approaches.

• AI Data and Agent Development: Design, develop, and train state-of-the-art LLM models and Agents that meet the highest quality standards.

• Team Leadership: technical leadership and mentor junior scientists.

• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate Generative AI capabilities into various applications and products.

• Innovation: Identify new opportunities for Generative AI and Data Analytics and explore emerging technologies for Unstructured and Structured Data.

• Stay Updated: Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends and advancements in this space.

Qualifications and Experience :

• PhD, or Master's degree and 2+ years relevant experience in Computer Science (focused on LLM, Agent, Analytics) or related fields;

• Strong publication record, including as a lead author, in top-tier journals or AI/LLM/Analytics conferences.

• Extensive experience in NLP, LLM, VLM, Retrieval, Enrichment and Analytics.

• Proven track record of leading research and development projects.

• Strong understanding of AI/ML algorithms and architectures.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Strong leadership and communication abilities
