Principal Solicitor

LYT Legal is preparing to launch as an SRA-regulated law firm, combining expert legal services with innovative technology to transform the delivery of UK immigration, compliance, and business legal solutions.

We are seeking an ambitious, entrepreneurial SRA-regulated Principal Solicitor to lead the firm's regulatory authorisation, legal strategy, and professional standards. This is a unique opportunity to build and shape a modern techno-legal practice from the ground up, supported by an established business group with existing operations in immigration compliance, HR technology, education, and business consultancy.

The successful candidate will play a central leadership role in developing one of the UK's most innovative legal practices. In addition to a competitive remuneration package, equity participation will be available based on the firm's growth and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Principal Solicitor and Compliance Officer, ensuring the firm meets all SRA regulatory and professional obligations.
• Lead the firm's legal strategy, governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Supervise solicitors, trainees, paralegals, and caseworkers while maintaining the highest standards of legal practice.
• Develop and oversee UK immigration services, ensuring advice is legally accurate, ethical, and client-focused.
• Build and strengthen the firm's reputation through excellence in legal service, compliance, and innovation.
• Work closely with the leadership team to develop technology-driven legal solutions, including AI-assisted workflows and client management systems.
• Support business development, strategic partnerships, and sustainable growth while maintaining strict professional independence and regulatory standards.

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor of England & Wales with a current practising certificate.
• Eligible to act as Principal of an SRA-regulated law firm.
• Strong experience in UK Immigration Law, including business and personal immigration.
• Thorough understanding of SRA Standards and Regulations, Code of Conduct, and legal compliance requirements.
• Demonstrable leadership and supervisory experience.
• Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to balance legal excellence and business growth.
• Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
• Commitment to delivering outstanding client care and best practice within the UK legal profession.

Desirable

• Experience establishing or managing an SRA-regulated practice.
• Knowledge of legal technology, AI, case management systems, and digital transformation.
• Experience working with sponsor licence compliance, corporate immigration, or regulatory matters.
• Interest in developing innovative legal services through technology.
