From essential oils and diffusers to room sprays, candles, and lifestyle accessories, we are passionate about developing products that combine innovation, quality, and exceptional design.
As we continue to expand both the Sparoom brand and new product lines, we're looking for a creative Product Development Specialist to help bring new ideas to life.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly creative, organized, and detail-oriented Product Development Specialist who loves creating products from concept through to launch.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys identifying trends, developing innovative products, working closely with manufacturers, and ensuring every product meets the highest quality and compliance standards.
You'll play a key role in shaping both the future of Sparoom and the development of entirely new brands.
Key Responsibilities
Product Ideation & Innovation
- Develop innovative product concepts for the Sparoom brand.
- Create and develop products for future brands and product categories.
- Research consumer trends, market opportunities, and emerging product ideas.
- Present new product concepts, collections, and seasonal launches.
- Build product ranges that align with brand positioning and customer demand.
Product Development
- Manage products from concept through commercialization.
- Develop seasonal collections and limited-edition products.
- Work with design, marketing, and leadership to refine product direction.
- Source materials, fragrances, packaging, and product components.
Supplier Management
- Communicate directly with domestic and international suppliers.
- Coordinate product specifications, samples, pricing, and production timelines.
- Resolve manufacturing issues and ensure products meet quality expectations.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships throughout development.
Compliance & Regulatory
- Manage product compliance requirements.
- Coordinate certifications, safety testing, regulatory documentation, and product licenses.
- Ensure products comply with all applicable U.S. retail and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain technical documentation and product records.
Project Management
- Track development timelines across multiple products simultaneously.
- Coordinate product launches with internal departments.
- Ensure projects stay on schedule from idea to production.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in product development, sourcing, merchandising, or product management.
- Experience within home fragrance, home décor, beauty, wellness, consumer products, or lifestyle brands is highly desirable.
- Understanding of product compliance, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong supplier communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent project management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with PLM or ERP systems is a plus.
Bonus Skills
- Experience with fragrance or home décor products.
- Packaging development experience.
- Trend forecasting.
- Product sourcing in Asia.
- Knowledge of retail requirements for major U.S. retailers (Target, Walmart, TJX, etc.).
- Experience launching products from concept to retail.
