The IT Technology Transformation Team of Heartland Dental in Effingham, IL is looking for a Product Manager to join our team.

As a Product Manager, you’ll be a valued member of the Practice Management Software Team. This hard-working and motivated position will help by partnering with stakeholders to identify practice management software needs and opportunities. They also will play a critical role in defining use cases and prioritizing stakeholder requests, designing product roadmaps, and communicating them to internal stakeholders. The Product Manager will also provide subject matter expertise for their specific product specialty. Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:

  • Assist with implementation pilots including planning, testing, and user communication.
  • Provide Level III Support and be a liaison to escalate and resolve issues with vendor partners.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for software solutions and issue resolution.
  • Deliver consistent and clear communication to Heartland Departments and field teams regarding project progress.
  • Define and document configuration templates for new solutions in partnership with other Heartland stakeholders.
  • Accepts ownership and keeps commitments.
  • Lead and manage all aspects of non-standard software requests.
  • Assist with project related tasks and initiatives as needed by Product Managers.
  • Assist with product testing as needed for software and operating system updates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to identify needs as well as recognize and analyze gaps between current solutions and desired outcomes to define product requirements.
  • Engage partner teams (Applications Development, IT Business Management (ITBM), Operations, other Heartland Departments) to effectively deliver on practice management software projects.
  • Establish relationships with current and potential software vendors to partner on innovative solutions for delivery and implementation.
  • Stay abreast of new technology and solutions in the dental industry.
  • Create and manage implementation pilot plans, including user acceptance testing, for software rollouts by partnering with Operations and other Heartland Departments.
  • Provide Level III Support and be a liaison to escalate and resolve issues with vendor partners.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for software solutions and issue resolution.
  • Deliver consistent and clear communication to Heartland Departments and field teams regarding project progress.
  • Define and document configuration templates for new solutions in partnership with other Heartland stakeholders.
  • Partner with various Heartland Departments to define an optimal support model for new solutions and processes.
  • Accepts ownership and keeps commitments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working as software product manager, or application specialist, or equivalent experience. Dental software experience preferred.
  • Highly developed communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) with ability and comfort to work with all levels of the organization, including executive level leaders.
  • Works cooperatively in group situations and displays effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to listen, build rapport, and gain credibility as a strategic partner within the business unit, as well as leadership and functional teams.
  • Skills and experience with negotiating conflict and problem-solving to achieve win-win outcomes; ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.
  • Requires a positive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and is driven to produce results.
  • Makes appropriate decisions while demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness; exhibits sound judgment.
  • Exhibits ability to learn and apply new skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Availability to attend meetings in-person (if conditions allow) quarterly throughout the year (some additional limited travel will eventually be involved such as 3-4 times per year)
