Production Manager

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations, develop high-performing teams and drive operational excellence across our production facility.

The Role

As Production Manager, you will take overall responsibility for ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant manufacture of medicinal products across the Crescent Medical UK site.

You will lead and motivate Production Team Leaders, oversee production planning and execution, ensure full GMP compliance and work closely with Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering and Planning to consistently deliver products to the highest quality standards.

The role requires a strong people leader who can balance operational performance with regulatory compliance whilst fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

You'll be responsible for:

• Leading daily pharmaceutical manufacturing operations
• Managing and developing Production Team Leaders and production staff
• Delivering production plans safely, efficiently and on schedule
• Ensuring compliance with GMP, Health & Safety and company procedures
• Driving Right First Time manufacturing performance
• Supporting the introduction of new products, manufacturing processes and validation activities
• Leading investigations into deviations, complaints and manufacturing issues
• Coordinating validation activities and ensuring protocol compliance
• Supporting the preparation of validation documentation and product dossiers for Specials manufacturing
• Ensuring all production personnel are appropriately trained and competent
• Leading continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations
• Conducting first-line disciplinary investigations and hearings
• Maintaining the site's purified water system
• Working collaboratively with Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Engineering and Supply Chain to improve performance and compliance
• Supporting MHRA inspections and regulatory audits

We're looking for someone who has:

Essential

• Minimum 10 years' experience within pharmaceutical solid dose manufacturing and packaging
• Previous management or senior supervisory experience within GMP manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of MHRA GMP requirements
• Experience leading pharmaceutical production teams
• Experience investigating deviations and implementing CAPAs
• Experience introducing new products into manufacture
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong organisational and planning ability
• Ability to motivate, coach and develop people
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

Desirable

• Experience managing pharmaceutical validation activities
• Experience supporting MHRA inspections
• Knowledge of Specials manufacturing
• Experience working within continuous improvement programmes
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
