Quality Assurance Director, Legal & Compliance

About Us

• Serve as the functional owner for compliance quality assurance across the legal & compliance department
• Act as the central point of accountability for QA standards, review methodologies, and assurance governance
• Conduct hands-on quality reviews of compliance work, including case reviews, decision assessments, and process quality checks
• Provide oversight, direction, and calibration support to existing QA resources to ensure consistency in review standards
• Establish QA frameworks, scoring methodologies, review criteria, escalation standards, and reporting mechanisms
• Design and progressively build a broader compliance assurance capability beyond current local QA activities
• Identify recurring quality gaps, control weaknesses, process failures, and execution risks through thematic reviews
• Partner closely with Compliance, AML, KYC/KYB, Operations, and control teams to strengthen execution standards
• Produce management reporting on QA findings, trends, recurring issues, and assurance outcomes
• Recommend process, control, and training improvements based on observed findings
• Act as a quality challenger to drive higher operational and compliance standards across the function

• 8–12 years of experience in compliance, compliance assurance, QA, audit, AML controls, or operational risk within financial services, fintech, payments, or crypto
• Strong hands-on experience conducting QA reviews, assurance testing, control reviews, or case quality assessments
• Strong understanding of compliance operations and control environments, particularly within AML / KYC / onboarding / transaction monitoring environments
• Experience designing or maturing QA or assurance frameworks
• Ability to independently identify risks, challenge decision-making, and drive remediation
• Comfortable operating as an individual owner of a function rather than within a heavily structured team
• Strong analytical, reporting, and stakeholder management skills
• Highly detail-oriented, pragmatic, and execution-focused
