Position Overview:
We are seeking a full-time, highly skilled Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) Engineer to oversee product quality from development through production, with a heavy emphasis on localized Failure Analysis (FA) and customer RMA investigations. Because our design architecture, upstream suppliers, and primary manufacturing hubs are located overseas, this position prefers full professional bilingual fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese.
The QA/QC Engineer serves as the critical technical and linguistic bridge between our local facility and our Asia-based engineering and supplier teams. This role is responsible for diagnosing technical product defects, running root-cause analysis, and directly communicating engineering adjustments to our Asia teams to ensure all localized output and global supply chains meet rigid industry standards.
Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance (QA)
• Develop and implement QA processes to ensure products meet specifications during the development phase.
• Provide assistance for FA from RMA or address issues raised by clients
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, production, suppliers) to establish standards, processes, and guidelines that promote quality.
• Conduct risk assessments and process audits to identify potential quality issues early in the production lifecycle.
• Implement preventive measures and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to minimize defects and enhance product quality.
• Work with design and engineering teams to ensure design validation and product testing are integrated early in the product lifecycle.
Quality Control (QC):
• Conduct inspections and tests of products to identify quality issues during or after production.
• Develop and maintain QC checklists, test plans, and inspection procedures for materials, components, and finished products.
• Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with established quality standards and specifications.
• Perform root cause analysis for defects and ensure effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure that raw materials meet the required quality standards through supplier audits and inspections.
• Maintain detailed records of test results, inspections, and non-conformance reports.
Continuous Improvement:
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and drive process enhancements that lead to increased efficiency, reduced costs, and improved product quality.
• Conduct statistical analysis and report on key quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, process capability) to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a QA/QC Engineer in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations, including UL certification and IEC 60950 / IEC 62368, is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of quality standards, tools, and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, FMEA, SPC).
• Experience with inspection techniques (manual and automated), including testing software and equipment.
• Familiarity with root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve quality issues. • Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently to ensure product quality.
• Certification in quality assurance or control (e.g., ASQ, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) is a plus.
• Bilingual in English & Mandarin is preferred.
Personal Characteristics/Soft skills:
● Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
● Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills for quality evaluation and issue resolution.
● Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
● Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage complex processes and documentation requirements.
