Great recruitment events do more than showcase a university. They help prospective students picture their future, build confidence in their choices and take the next step towards joining our community.

Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) is looking for an experienced and creative Recruitment and Conversion Events Manager to lead the development and delivery of events that attract, engage and convert prospective students.

From large-scale Open Days and Offer Holder Events to information sessions and innovating new approaches to virtual engagement, you will shape an ambitious programme of activity across the applicant journey. You will ensure every event is welcoming, distinctive and professionally delivered while using insight, performance data and return on investment to understand what works and continually improve our approach.

Leading a specialist team of five, you will set clear priorities, develop colleagues and create the conditions for excellent delivery. You will manage projects, budgets, suppliers and operational requirements, bringing together colleagues from across Marketing, Admissions, Recruitment and Communications, academic Schools and professional service teams.

This is a highly collaborative role. You will build strong relationships across the University, work closely with Product Marketing, Enquiry Conversion and CRM colleagues, and ensure our events respond to the needs of different audiences and support institutional recruitment goals.

What you will bring

You will have:

  • Significant experience of delivering successful large-scale events from concept through to completion
  • Strong leadership and line-management experience, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Excellent project-management and organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • A strong understanding of marketing, audience engagement and customer service
  • The confidence to influence, negotiate and build effective relationships at every level
  • A creative, solutions-focused approach and the ability to respond positively to change

Experience of student recruitment in higher education, budget management, digital platforms such as Salesforce, virtual event delivery or a relevant marketing or event-planning qualification would be an advantage.

You will need to be comfortable combining team leadership with hands-on operational delivery. Our recruitment and conversion events regularly take place during evenings and weekends, and attendance at these events is an important part of the role.

If you are excited by the opportunity to create memorable experiences, lead a high functioning and talented team and make a measurable contribution to student recruitment and conversion at CCCU, we would be delighted to hear from you.

How will you work?

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is Flexible and connected (Professional Services) which means Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders.

It is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus; but in most cases the work location will be determined by the service required or the tasks/activities being undertaken.

Kindly note while this position operates under a hybrid working arrangement, attendance onsite will be required during event periods. Candidates should be aware that remote working options may be restricted at these times to ensure effective event planning, coordination, and delivery.

How to apply

Start date for applications: 23rd July 2026
Closing date for applications: 18th August 2026
Interviews are to be held: W/C 31st August 2026
