Release Engineer (AWS / Azure / Terraform)

About the Opportunity

ZipStaff is recruiting on behalf of a leading enterprise client seeking an experienced Release Engineer to support cloud application deployments and infrastructure automation.

This role is ideal for an engineer with strong experience in Azure, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and cloud release management who enjoys building reliable deployment processes and modern cloud infrastructure.

This is a 100% onsite position in Houston, Texas.

What You'll Do

As the Release Engineer, you'll help manage cloud application releases while improving deployment automation, security, and reliability.

Responsibilities include:

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Automate software deployments across Azure and AWS
• Deploy infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
• Implement Blue-Green and Canary deployment strategies
• Monitor cloud environments using CloudWatch and Azure Monitor
• Troubleshoot deployment and infrastructure issues
• Collaborate with Software Development, QA, Security, and Infrastructure teams
• Maintain release documentation and version control
• Improve release quality, automation, and deployment speed
• Ensure cloud environments meet security and compliance standards

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of Release Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud Infrastructure experience
• Strong experience with AWS and Azure
• Hands-on Terraform experience
• Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Git workflows
• Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Experience monitoring cloud environments
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Strong written and verbal communication

Preferred Certifications

One of the following:

• Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
• AWS Associate Certification

Preferred but not required:

• Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
• Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204)
• HashiCorp Terraform Associate
