About the role

POSITION SUMMARY

As CartBarn continues to grow, we are seeking a hands-on Sales Manager whose primary goal is to drive sales revenue and deliver an exceptional customer experience. Reporting to the owner, this role combines hands-on selling with leading a small team of 1–3 Sales Representatives through clear direction, training, coaching, and ongoing mentorship. Our sales process is driven primarily by inbound leads, allowing the team to focus on building relationships and closing opportunities rather than cold calling.

The Sales Manager will work closely with the leadership team to set daily, weekly, and monthly goals while serving as the primary resource for sales support, customer issues, and problem-solving. This role is responsible for driving sales growth, improving profitability, increasing market share, developing and managing business operations and fostering high levels of customer and employee satisfaction.

ABOUT CARTBARN

Our mission is to help customers with their cart and vehicle needs to the highest standards. We partner with major golf cart brands and pride ourselves on our positive work culture. We work with our team to help everyone grow and train to be successful, meeting personal, professional, and financial goals. Our core values are the backbone of our business and guide our hiring process: we are accountable, aligned, disciplined, results oriented, work with integrity, and operate as a team!

OBJECTIVES

Sales Leadership, Revenue & Profitability: Lead the sales team and actively sell alongside them to achieve revenue, gross profit, unit, average order value, accessory, and market-share targets. Translate company goals into clear daily, weekly, and monthly expectations, manage personal sales opportunities, and support the team with negotiations and closing.

Team Leadership, Development & Coaching: Provide daily direction, one-on-one meetings, structured role-play, product training, call reviews, objection handling, and deal coaching. Recruit, onboard, mentor, and performance-manage Sales Representatives, providing candid feedback and corrective action while fostering a positive, accountable, and results-oriented culture.

Sales Process & CRM Management: Review the CRM daily to ensure leads are assigned correctly, contacted promptly, fully documented, and supported by accurate notes and follow-up tasks. Ensure the team consistently follows CartBarn’s lead-response, follow-up, quoting, and closing procedures.

Sales Metrics & Performance Management: Review and evaluate team activity and results, including calls, texts, emails, appointments, lead response time, pipeline movement, closing ratio, average order value, accessory sales, discounts, trade allowances and deal structure to protect margins. Use the data to identify gaps, coach improvements, establish action plans, and follow through until performance improves.

Vehicle Ordering & Product Management: Manage vehicle ordering based on sales demand, inventory levels, manufacturer lead times, model mix, seasonality, and approved purchasing plans. Ensure the team maintains current knowledge of CartBarn products, financing, accessories, warranties, competitors, and vehicle requirements.

Inventory Management: Maintain accurate visibility of available, incoming, sold, and trade-in inventory. Prioritize aging units approaching floor-plan interest, slow-moving stock, and trade-ins, and develop and execute plans to sell those units.

Sales Strategy, Market Development & Marketing Collaboration: Develop sales strategies that increase revenue, profitability, retention, and market share. Identify new markets, commercial and fleet opportunities, partnerships, referral sources, and customer segments. Collaborate with Marketing on lead quality, inventory priorities, promotions, campaigns, and market opportunities.

Sales Forecasting & Reporting: Prepare accurate sales forecasts and concise performance updates for ownership, including pipeline status, expected revenue, target progress, risks, opportunities, inventory concerns, and corrective actions.

Customer Satisfaction: Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the sales process. Ensure prompt, accurate, and transparent communication, resolve escalations quickly, and act as a client-facing problem solver while protecting CartBarn’s Customer experience and reputation.

CartBarn Representation & Off-Site Events: Represent CartBarn professionally at customer meetings, demonstrations, industry and community events, and other off-site sales activities, including summer weekends when required.
