About the role
- Manage and record accounting transactions in accordance with local regulations and group accounting policies.
- Process and book supplier invoices (local vendors, intercompany entities, freelancers, and remote services).
- Prepare and post month-end entries, including accruals, provisions, payroll, bonuses, unused vacation provisions, and foreign exchange revaluations.
- Perform monthly VAT closing activities and ensure accurate tax reporting.
- Prepare and submit fiscal declarations (VAT returns, payroll contributions, SAF-T and other statutory reports) in compliance with Romanian legislation.
- Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions, netting activities, and balance confirmations.
- Review trial balance accounts and support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
- Prepare and execute payments while ensuring compliance with Delegation of Authority (DOA) requirements.
- Monitor cash flows and prepare weekly cash forecasts.
- Prepare invoicing, collections, and financial reporting for management and Group reporting purposes.
- Maintain relationships with banking partners and manage banking administration activities, including user access and approval rights.
- Prepare and submit financial data for Group reporting tools (CUBE, Opera, Consolidation reporting).
- Perform DPO analysis and other financial reporting requirements requested by the Group.
- Manage freelancer accounting processes, including invoice verification, tax compliance checks through SPV, supporting documentation review, and reconciliation of reported costs.
- Record customer payments and perform bank reconciliations.
- Ensure timely payments to freelancers and maintain related operational databases.
- Support statutory audits, group audits, and internal control processes.
- Monitor legislative and fiscal changes and assess their impact on accounting activities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments and respond to local management requests.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and financial controls.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Senior Accountant position.
- Strong knowledge of Romanian accounting standards, taxation, VAT, payroll accounting, and statutory reporting.
- Experience with month-end closing activities, accruals, provisions, and intercompany accounting.
- Good understanding of cash management and treasury activities.
- Experience working in an international or multinational environment.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems (WizPro experience is nice to have).
- Experience with SAF-T reporting.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
- English proficiency (written and spoken).
Nice to have
- CECCAR certification or ongoing qualification.
- Knowledge of Group reporting and consolidation processes is an advantage.
- Previous exposure to audit activities and internal control frameworks.
