We’ve launched the cross-border ecommerce team in Tokyo including multiple fulfilment models, offering two/three-day delivery to Korea and Taiwan on a wide range of selection.

Our team's mission is to discover the potential demand for Japanese products among Korean and Taiwanese customers and provide a product lineup that exceeds their expectations with exceptional shopping experiences which “Wow” the customers. This includes speed in delivering products from Japan at affordable prices. To achieve this mission, our team acts with entrepreneurship, high autonomy, and ownership with special focus on moving with urgency.

Position Title： Senior Category Manager

The Senior Category Manager focuses on growing selection through lead generation, brand acquisition, and closing partnership deals across Direct Sourcing and Marketplace models for Hardlines and Softlines categories.

Main Responsibilities

• Identify non-consumables Japanese selection opportunities in Korea based on consumer demand trends,competitive insights and market data.
• Identify high quality leads and define acquisition approach: vendor or seller.
• Actively participate in trade shows, outreach, B2B marketing planning, and channel partner engagements.
• Drive actions to convert leads into vendors and sellers to grow non-consumables business.
• Grow partnerships with key Japanese brands/sellers.
• Meet vendor, seller, and selection targets.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 7 years of relevant work experience in e-commerce or retail managing multi-million yen accounts.
• Proven track record of exceeding business development / sales targets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills at executive levels.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Data manipulation and analytics capabilities.
• Fluent communication in Japanese. Business level English.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Hardlines and Softlines industries.
• Network of partners in non-consumables industries in Japan.
• Competence in cross-border commerce, especially on Japanese consumer product exports.
• People management experience
