POSITION SUMMARY
At the Garage, we're building the future of healthcare through data, interoperability, AI, and agentic platforms.
As a Senior Data & AI Engineer, you will design, build, and scale AI-powered data products, analytics platforms, automation utilities, and intelligent services that accelerate innovation across our ecosystem. You will work at the intersection of healthcare data, software engineering, generative AI, and analytics to transform raw data into actionable intelligence. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who loves building, experimenting, and solving complex healthcare challenges using modern data engineering practices and AI technologies.
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop scalable healthcare data pipelines and reusable data services.
- Build AI-powered tools, internal utilities, and developer accelerators using modern LLMs and agentic frameworks.
- Develop analytics products and dashboards that provide real-time operational and business intelligence.
- Build reusable APIs and data services that power Blaze Agents and platform capabilities.
- Design semantic data models optimized for analytics and AI.
- Create data products that improve customer adoption, platform insights, and decision-making.
- Develop proof-of-concepts for emerging AI technologies and rapidly operationalize successful ideas.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, governance, and observability across the platform.
- Optimize data processing performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Create predictive models and AI-enabled insights that support value-based care, population health, and interoperability initiatives.
- Champion modern software engineering and AI development best practices.
- Contribute to architectural decisions across the data and AI platform.
- Modernize and optimize data processes and workflows by replacing legacy solutions with scalable, automated, and AI-enabled capabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, or AI Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare domain (required).
- Experience working with healthcare data including Claims, Clinical, FHIR, HL7, ADT, Quality Measures, Risk Adjustment, or Population Health.
- Passionate about using AI to solve meaningful healthcare challenges.
- Thinks like a builder and enjoys creating tools that make others more productive.
- Communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
