Engineer the Future of Energy in Regional WA

As a Senior Electrical Transmission Engineer, you'll be the technical expert helping shape the future of Horizon Power's transmission and substation network across some of Western Australia's most unique and challenging environments. From major asset replacement projects to renewable energy integration, you'll influence critical engineering decisions that keep regional communities powered.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide specialist engineering advice and technical leadership across transmission and substation assets.
  • Review and approve complex engineering designs, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Lead engineering risk assessments and Safety in Design activities to deliver safe, reliable outcomes.
  • Support major transmission projects, asset replacement programs and renewable energy initiatives.
  • Investigate network and protection system issues, identifying practical solutions to improve performance.
  • Mentor engineers and collaborate with stakeholders across operations, projects and asset management.

What you’ll bring

  • Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Strong experience in transmission, substations, power systems or utility operations.
  • Expertise in protection systems, protection relays and settings development.
  • Experience delivering complex infrastructure projects through design, construction and commissioning.
  • Sound knowledge of transmission networks, engineering standards and industry best practice.
  • A collaborative approach, strong communication skills and the ability to navigate competing priorities.
