Senior Creative Designer (Graphic Design, Animation & XR)

D5 Design Limited | Near Tring, HP22 5LU | Full-time, Permanent | Hybrid (studio-based Mon-Thu, work from home Fridays)

Salary: £43,000 - £50,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits

D5 Design is a creative studio and production house based near Tring, specialising in communications for product innovation and complexities. We help clients explain complex products and innovations through graphic design, illustration, 3D, animation, film, AI and XR.

We're growing, and we're looking for a Senior Creative Designer to lead our graphic design output and play a central creative role across animation and XR projects. This is a senior, hands-on role: you'll create exceptional design work yourself, mentor junior designers, and help set the creative direction of the studio. You'll own your work, taking full responsibility for its creativity, the quality of its execution and the correctness of every detail.

What you'll be doing:

• Leading and delivering graphic design work across a broad range of client projects
• Playing an active creative role in animation and XR projects
• Sketching and exploring concepts before moving into design
• Creating and building business and product communication tools, technical product stories, multi-media decks, storyboards, infographics, digital and social assets
• Directing illustration, 3D and animation work as part of the overall story
• Mentoring and developing junior designers through hands-on feedback
• Working within brand guidelines while pushing them further to engage an audience
• Partnering with the Studio and Marketing Manager on workflow, productivity and client service

What we're looking for:

• Proven senior-level experience in graphic design, ideally within a design studio or agency
• Exceptional skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
• Comfortable using AI tools as part of a natural creative workflow
• Genuine interest in how products and technology work, with strong storytelling ability
• Strong conceptual and sketching skills, able to explore ideas before committing to design
• Experience directing or collaborating on illustration, 3D and animation work
• A natural mentor, able to give and receive constructive feedback
• Enjoys ownership and responsibility, taking accountability for the level of creativity, quality of execution and correctness of detail in their own work
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, energetic approach to a varied workload
